16,520. Johansson, A., and Johansson, S. I. G. Feb. 8. Boot-sole sewing - machines; needles, hook, threading-devices for.-The needle is threaded by a tubular thread-carrier 10 and a threadfinger 22. The thread-finger is pivoted on the needle-plate 4, and is oscillated by the engagement of a pin 24 on the thread-carrier with a slot 23. The thread-carrier is secured to an arm 11 of a spindle 12. The lower end of the spindle is bent, and the bent portion is passed through an inclined slot 16 in a fixed plate, and is pivotally connected to a pitman 17 so that the thread-carrier is caused to move in an approximately helical path.
