Posts; climbing posts, means for.-Metal telegraph posts are constructed of taper sections each comprised of semicircular halves 2, 3, with webs 4 and longitudinal strengthening-bars 4a secured together by rivets or bolts 5. The base may be strengthened as shown in Fig. 1 by external straps 6 and internal bars 7, and the securing bolts and rivets are placed alternately, the rivets being flush with the surface and the bolts projecting therefrom to provide a hold for the hook 12 on a climbing-iron 9. This climbing-iron has a strap 11 to secure the foot of the user on the step 10.
