Abstract

13,674. Boulton, J. P. June 8. [Cognate Application, 20,156/11.] Coating-compositions. - Ships' bottoms and other surfaces are coated with a paint or anticorrosive or anti-fouling composition, and while the surface is still wet, moist, or plastic, granulated glass from which the powder has been removed, is sprayed on. This operation may be repeatedly performed until the desired thickness is attained, and the surface may also be rolled, polished, or smoothed. After the glass has been sprayed on, a thin coating of anti-fouling composition is applied and then partly wiped off so that it is removed from the surfaces of the granules.
