Abstract

13,646. Wilcox, W. L. June 7. Impulse and reaction meters.-A screw meter comprises a helical blade E of aluminium or other metal having end shafts F mounted on ball bearings D. Each bearing D has a lubricant socket closed by a cap D<3>, and is supported by three spider arms carried by a ring C screwed into the collar B of the casing A. The register mechanism is operated by arms G on one of the shafts F striking a star-wheel H. The other shaft F is provided with a ratchetwheel F<2> which co-acts with a pawl F<3> to prevent backward rotation of the meter.
