13,175. Shanks, C. F. Nov. 24. Milling-machines; drilling-machines.-A machine for milling and boring has the boring and milling tools separately driven, but arranged concentrically with each other. The machine comprises end standards A<3> joined by a cross-frame F<1> and a vertically adjustable cross-bar A<2> adapted to carry the tool brackets A<1>, which can be adjusted transversely along the bar by means of screws a rotated through gearing from an electromotor F carried on the cross-frame. The whole frame is adapted to be traversed by screws e driven through gearing from an electromotor k, and the cross-bar is adjusted vertically by screws b rotated from a shaft c<1> driven in turn through a sliding pinion F<2> from the motor F. Each milling-cutter A is provided with a spur-wheel B driven through gearing from the shaft E, and concentric with the milling-cutter is the drilling-tool M carried by the spindle L driven in either direction through gearing N, O, P and a clutch Q from the shaft E. The drilling-spindle is fed by a rack R and pinion S driven through worm gearing and a hand-wheel.
