[Cognate Application, 22,808/11.] Wheel guards and obstruction-removers.-A buffer for motor-cars &c. comprises a bar A pivoted to links C supported by adjustable brackets G. The links C are capable of yielding against the action of springs M. The brackets G are mounted on clips I secured to the vehicle frame, a serrated joint being used to fix the bracket G in position so that the height of the bar may be varied. The joints can yield under heavy strains.
