Clamps, sliding-jaw.-A clamp for holding together the ends of glass shelves in shops and for like purposes, of the type in which a pair of plates are pressed together by a lever, has the plate 7 so mounted that it can be pressed by the lever 15 towards the plate 1, and can also adapt its inclination to suit shelves A, B of varying thickness. A U-shaped bracket 2, rigidly attached to the plate 1, serves to support both the lever 15 and the plate 7. The plate is further provided with spring gripping- tongues 10, 11.
