Dissolving sugar. - Apparatus for dissolving sugar &c., in which the sugar &c. and water &c. are caused to travel round a fixed drum a, is fitted with disks f upon the stirrer-shaft l to form a chamber h for the introduction of steam or gases. The sugar &c. is fed continuously from a shoot c by water &c. from a pipe d, and the mixture passes through a rotary sieve e. The chamber i is provided with a discharge-pipe and a vent-pipe g.
