Combinations of interdependent valves; plug cocks.-In an air-brake system for trains, a plug cock 27 is formed with a through -port 31 adapted to connect the train-pipe A to the hose coupling C, as shown in Fig. 3, and is further formed with grooves 32, 33, which, when the cock is closed, connect the opposite sides A, C of the cock to atmospheric ports 38, as shown in Fig. 5, the amount of venting thus obtained being regulated by spring-pressed valves 40. When the valve is turned to 180 degrees from its normal position, the train-pipe is vented through ports 9", 10", Fig. 6.
