8399. Gettelman, F. April 4. Sterilizing liquids. - Apparatus for pasteurizing bottled products comprises a chamber 1 having an inlet 2 and four vertically-arranged tanks 4, through which a conveyer 3 is caused to travel as shown by pulleys. The .conveyer carries the bottles in pivoted buckets 15, and runs upon rails 6. Hot water is supplied by pipes 5, and the tanks are maintained at 122‹, 149‹, 140‹, and 122‹ F. respectively. Overflow from the last tank is sprayed by a pump 19 upon the bottles entering and leaving the first tank, and overflow from the first tank is sprayed by a pipe 23 upon the bottles leaving the last tank.
