Dynamos and motors, cooling and ventilating -The rotor of a dynamo-electric machine is provided with three fans, of 'which one d forces air through the stator air ducts, and the other two f, e draw air through the air gap between the rotor and stator and the rotor air ducts, respectively. A partition g separates the air discharged through the stator from that discharged through the rotor and air gap. The fan blades e, f may be separated from each other by a partition h.
