Abstract

3333. Sueter, M. F., Boothby, F. L. M., and Paterson, H. G. Feb. 9. Starting. - To start an aeroplane in a confined space, such, for instance, as from a ship, it is supported by trunnions a<1> upon arms e carried by a trolly d adapted to run upon widely - spaced inclined rails b. The trolly may be propelled by a falling weight i and cable j. The weight may instead be suspended from the mast of the ship. Outwardlyextending struts f may be provided on the trolly d for supporting the wings of the machine.
