Abstract

2728. Denny, M. Feb. 2, 1910, [Convention date]. Granaries.-A delivery spout for use in grain warehouses is arranged to receive and discharge at any floor. Fig. 1 shows one arrangement for each floor. Access is had from the floor to the spout 1 down a hopper 3 through apertures 4 which can be closed by a rotating shutter 2. The shutter has a second set of apertures 6, and carries a conical hood 9. The apertures 6 can be caused to register either with apertures leading the grain by inclined planes 8 to the floor beneath, or with apertures conducting the grain through hoppers 10 back to the spout. In a modification, Fig. 4, the conical hood 13 is mounted on a pivot 11 so that it can be replaced by a swinging section 12 of the spout. Gearing may be provided for actuating the parts 12, 13.
