Abstract

1,148,798. Hopper for articles. SIGMA INSTRUMENT CO. Ltd. 30 April, 1968 [14 July, 1967], No. 32500/67. Heading B8S. Articles thrown into hopper 1 are discharged therefrom by horizontal rotating disc 2. The articles pass through aperture 3 in wall 5 of the hopper, pass along the channel 6 and are delivered at 4. The wall 5 and channel 6 are formed of bands of wear-resistant spring steel and wall 5 is formed with the gap 3 so that it separates the articles in channel 6 from the articles on the disc 2. The band 5 is secured to hopper 1 by clamps, e.g. 8. A film of oil may be introduced into the hopper to facilitate the discharge.
