Abstract

2099. Davis, A. F. Jan. 27. Moving-chamber apparatus with several chambers for granular materials. - An apparatus affixed to a counter, for delivering tea, consists of a hopper a, at the foot of which are reciprocating measuring-chambers h<1>, h<2> of adjustable capacity. These chambers are alternately moved under an opening b at the base of the hopper and over a delivery outlet d by means of a lever e, which is rigidly attached to the drum containing the chambers and moves in a slot in the hopper under a curved wall a<1>. The measuring-chambers are formed by two castings, shown in Figs. 4 and 6, which are adjustably secured together by a nut l and washer m. The plate has projections j<1>, j<2> which fit into the chambered casting shown in Fig. 6 to form the measuring-chambers h<1>, h<2>. When the castings are to be adjusted, a plate g, Fig. 3, is inserted in a slot g<1> to close the aperture b. The measuring-chambers move on ledges c<1>, c<2> to prevent jamming by tea &c.
