883. Burrow, E. V. Jan. 12. Fastening.-Traces 6 are secured to whippletrees 5 by spring-pressed arms 10 which enter slots 13 in the whipple-trees. The arms 10 slide in ears 9 on a base-plate 7, which is clipped to the trace, and are withdrawn against the action of a spring 16 by means of a hook 11 formed with the arms 10.
