135. Jensen, F. Jan. 3. Propelling and steering by water and air jets. -In a jet propulsion system for ships, the suction pipes 1, Fig. 4, pass through the stern half of the ship's bottom, the delivery pipes 2 passing through the fore half. These may be combined, as shown in Fig. 6, with suction pipes at the bow and delivery pipes at the stern. The ship may be steered by diagonally - directed pipes 1, 2, passing through side keels c. The ship may be provided with pipes of a known kind for forcing air under the ship's bottom.
