Abstract

30,010. Wickel, F. C. Dec. 24, 1909, [Convention date]. Coated paper; compound paper; transparent paper. - Transparent impermeable metallized paper for packing purposes is produced by coating impermeable paper such as pergamyn paper, with a very thin metallic film, and then finishing in the usual manner. The film, being thin, remains transparent and allows the colour of the ground paper to show through. The metallic film may be applied to the paper by a suitably dyed cement which serves to colour the ground material, and the paper may be reinforced with a backing of cheap white paper.
