29,367. Reynolds, A. Dec. 17. Producers. - Twin producers of the kind described in Specifications 971/91 and 3429/00 are provided with annular combustion spaces C, D at their bases, so that the gas generated in the first producer may be completely burnt before ascending the coke column in the second producer. Air may be supplied at the base, and at an intermediate part of the shaft, of either producer, and the gas from one producer may be led to the base of the other producer, or directly to the outlet flue. Hydrocarbons, blastfurnace gas, and coke-oven gas may also be burnt in the combustion chambers. According to the Provisional Specification, producer-gas may also be generated by passing the combustion products of coke-oven and like gas through a bed of incandescent coke.
