Abstract

29,087. Stanley, J. C. W. Dec. 14, 1909, [Convention date]. Set-pans.-In a process for making pulp, splinters from resinous woods are screened by a cylinder 3 and then soaked at a temperature of 200‹ F. in a 10‹ Be. solution of caustic soda in a tank 4 having a steam coil 7, a perforated bottom plate 5, and a hinged perforated plate 8 which keeps the material submerged. The liquor is afterwards run off through a valve 6 into a digester.
