Abstract
28,472. Gaara, H. Dec. 7. Steering.-Rudders are actuated by a propeller driven by the air current produced by the flight of the machine. The hand-lever 9 is adapted to engage one or other of the cones 6, 7 freely mounted on the shaft 2 of the airdriven propeller 1 with the cone 5 fixed to the shaft. The cones 6, 7 effect opposite rotation of the drum 13 for the cable 14 of the rudder 15 by the belts 17, 18, one of which is crossed. The hand-lever is connected to the cable at the point 20, which serves as a fulcrum when putting-in the clutch, and enables the movement of the rudder to disengage the clutch. The lever turns about the handle 21 in the latter case.
