Non - metallic elastic bodies and cores; tyre attachments to rims.-A solid india-rubber tyre 1 is vulcanized to a laminated canvas base 2 the edges 3 of which project laterally and are secured by rings 6 of angle-iron, which are so shaped that the base of the tyre immediately above the canvas is compressed laterally. The rim 4 is of channel - section. In the form shown in Figs. 2 and 3, the ends of the rings are drawn together and secured by a key 10, which lies flush with the ring and is formed with pins 11 entering recesses 12. In the form shown in Fig. 5, the rings are in sections and are secured by radial screws.
