19,367. Mathewson, A. E. Aug. 18. Lathes; drilling - machines. - A chain drive is used for boring and facing machines of the type type referred to i n Specification 11,650/10. The chain K passes from a wheel L in the base over a top wheel M' and over wheels L<1>, M carried in the headstock, back gear being provided for the headstock. In a modification, the wheels L<1>, Mare dispensed with, and an upper chain-wheel drives through bevel-gearing a splined vertical shaft from which the headstock is driven.
