9643. Edmonton Glass Works, and Barron, A. April 20. Blowing.-Relates to machines of the type in which a partial vacuum is formed in the neck mould to promote the correct formation of the bottle neck. An annular chamber a is formed in the neck mould, and communicates with the neck mould by a narrow opening f, and with a vacuum reservoir by a pipe p. The bottom of the chamber a is formed by a flange d on the mouth-forming nipple e. The handle h<1>, which operates the plunger, is connected by a link g with the vacuum cock h, so that the plunger is withdrawn and the vacuum cut off simultaneously.
