Abstract

20,502. Burckhardt, F. W. Sept. 2. Blowing.-Relates to the formation of articles of quartz glass by blowing. A two-part mould a, b is used, having a small hole at c and a larger hole at d and so arranged that, when closed upon a tubular parison f of fused quartz, the end h of the parison f is entirely closed and the end i is closed securely round a blowpipe g. The parison is then blown to fill the mould a, b as usual.
