Abstract

9641. Edmonton Glass Works, and Barron A. April 20. Blowing.-Relates to cooling the moulds and plungers of bottle-blowing machines, particularly those of the Leistner type. Tubes x, pivoted at c and connected by rods e to the mould-carrying arms d, are arranged to direct jets of cold air against the open parison and finishing-moulds b, as shown by the dotted lines. The plunger is cooled by a jet of air from a pipe, which is moved into position by hand. In both cases, the movement of the air-pipes turns on the air automatically.
