8567. Wagner, L. April 8. Drying gases.-An ammonia purifier for refrigerating-plant consists of two or more drums 10, 11 fitted with water conduits 17, 18. The drums are connected together so that the ammonia, oil, and water vapour from the compressor enter the drum 10 by the inlet 14 and flow through the pipes 15 to the drum 11, passing thence by the outlet 16 to the condenser. The cooling-water flows through the conduits 17, 18 in the opposite direction, entering by the inlet 19 and leaving by the outlet 22. The bottom of the drum 11 may be at a higher level than the bottom of the other drum, so that the condensate from the drum 11 may flow through the pipe 12 to the drum 10 and be drawn off by the pipe 24.
