Self-driving plant.-Relates to a system for generating pneumatic or hydraulic pressure. .Upon an oblong reservoir a having a raised compartment a<1> at one corner lies a base-plate b pivoted on a pipe b<1>. The base-plate carries two small chambers c, c' connected by a top pipe, and a shaft d bearing wheels f, f<1>, f<2> which gear with racks g, g<1>, g<2> on the pistonrods h, h<1>, h<2> of the cylinders i, i<1>, i<2>. A wheel s on the shaft a gears with the piston-rod of an air-engine r, and a lever k extends between tappets n, o on the wheels f<1>, f<2>, the latter of which gears with a rack p on the bedplate. The system it is stated works when started by giving a few turns to the fly-wheel of the engine.
