2565. Kitchen, J. G. A. Feb. 2. Cooking-stoves. - A portable cooking-apparatus, such as that described in Specification 14,090/09, is heated alternatively by liquid or solid fuel. The burners, parts of the oil-supply pipes, and the sliding doors in front of the burners of the apparatus referred to above are removed, and are replaced by a door frame 55 with fire and ash-pit doors 57, 58. Adjacent to the bars 29<a> supporting the ovens and grillers previously described are placed bars 62, and beneath them are placed channel-irons 63. Firegrates 65 are placed on the bars 62, and vertical grates 67, supported by legs 68 in the irons 63, are slipped into the spaces between the bars 29a, 62, as shown, thus forming a fire-holder. The ash-pit is completed by two side plates 78. The steamer 45 is similarly fitted, except that the sides of the grate are formed by slabs 69, and it has a smoke-box 71 and chimney 72. A rotary blower 75 is fitted in a casing 76 at the rear side of the casing 6 so as to supply air through the casing 76 and duct 74 to the ashpits when lighting the fires beneath the boilers 32, and at other times when required.
