Abstract
1381. Taylor, J., and Kershaw, E. Jan. 19. Channels in vertical - shaft bearings.-In worsted spinning or twisting frames of the kind in which the spun or twisted yarn is received by a bobbin carried on a tube b rotated by a wharl c, a washer f, which is placed between the wharl and a lifter plate d, is provided with means for supplying lubricant to a pad e surrounding the spindle a. The washer has an outer flat-topped flange g forming a channel j, with perforations k through which oil may reach the pad d. The washer may also have an inner flange h with notches i through which a portion of the oil passes direct to the spindle.
