Abstract
23,853. Rounds, W. G. Oct. 18. Washing-tanks.-A print-washer is fitted with means, such as a central conoidal member 19, Fig. 2, and an internally-corrugated feedmember B, to obtain vortex currents as illustrated in the drawing. The surface of the washer is corrugated to prevent the prints from sticking to the sides. The conoidal fitting may be integral with the washer, or it may be a separate fitting, which can then be used with any open container. A smooth cap 12 fits on the top of the conoidal member, and the internal corrugations of the feed-member B results in tangential jets of water. The upper edge of the washer is cut with several notches 10 for overflow. To keep the prints from the feedmember B, this has a conoidal flange 17, cr alternatively it has a series of perforations near the bottom, through which jets of water issue and clear the surface of any adhering prints.
