17,329. Wright, H. H. July 26. Mud-guards carried by wheels.- Side splashes on wet roads are prevented by rubber rings, of slightly less diameter than that of the tyres. The rings are secured on the off sides of the wheels by thin metal rings screwed or otherwise fixed to the felloes as shown in Fig. 2; or they may be provided with flanges which engage between the tyres and 'the rims, as shown in Fig. 4. The rings may be. circular or polygonal.
