Levers X hinged to the chock supports at Y prevent the chocks from moving beyond an horizontal p o s ition. The usual gear for hoisting, lowering, and swinging out the boats is provided, but the falls are wound upon one and the same barrel, an extra sleave on one of the davit blocks being provided to accommodate the fall leading to the other davit.
