Abstract
16,528. Wray, J. W. July 15. Weft-replenishing mechanism; shuttles.-The shuttle is provided with a weft-feeler having a nose G projecting towards the bobbin and a nose E projecting through a slot in the shuttle, the feeler being connected to or forming part of a blade-spring H, whereby it is normally held clear of the weft; but at each alternate beat-up, the nose E engages a spring-controlled trigger or lever pivoted to the lay front, this trigger having a wide end so as to press the feeler inwards into engagement with the weft irrespective of the. position of the shuttle in the box. When the weft is substantially exhausted, the feeler is pressed in so far that the reverse end of the trigger operates shuttle - changing mechanism.
