Abstract

15,305. Smith, E. S. June 30. Fluids, regulating volume of flow of.-In connexion with an internal-combustion engine the flow of fuel takes place through a rotatablymounted cylinder 15, the flow from which takes place through one or more of a series of nozzles 24 disposed in a spiral line on the cylinder 15. Formed in one with the cylinder 15 and fitting the pipe 11 are wings 22, 23. The former is cut away at 27, and the latter is provided with a portion 28 in the form of one quarter of a sphere, whereby the suction of the engine rotates the cylinder to a greater or lesser extent and causes fuel supply to take place through one or more nozzles 24 according to the number of inlets to these which are brought below the liquid level in the cylinder 15. At the same time the air supply passing the wing 22 is controlled in accordance with the suction demand.
