Abstract

Holders; gas meters.-A bell G<1>, Fig. 8, is shaped to part of a torus and works in a correspondingly shaped vessel F<1>, gas being supplied through a pipe R'. The bell works about an axis M, and is partly balanced by a weight S<1>. A device for delivering a measured quantity of gas comprises communicating vessels A, B, Fig. 1, arranged so that when filled with water, gas is forced from the vessel B into a measuring-bell G. When this bell is filled, contacts b, c are closed, which operate a tilting- device and actuate a two-way valve E, allowing the gas in the bell G to discharge and putting the vessel B in communication with the gassupply. At the same time the valve C is opened and the vessels A, B empty, a float e falling with the liquid and eventually closing contacts h, c<1>, which close the valve C, and reverse the valve E. The operations are then repeated.
