Abstract

Levels, regulating.-Apparatus of the birdfountain type for controlling the flow of liquid hydrocarbon to a carburettor or for other purposes comprises a primary vessel a closed by a valve-stopper a' and a cap a', and a secondary vessel y formed by a conical partition b, the two vessels communicating through an aperture d<1>, which, when the charging-nozzle a<1> is closed by the stopper, is held opened automatically, as shown, by a valve e operated by a weight g attached to the stopper a<3>. For charging purposes, the stopper is raised and supported on the mouth of the charging-aperture by a hook a<5>, the action permitting the valve e to close automatically. The vessel y is vented to the atmosphere by a pipe h, and has a discharge i below the level of a valve-controlled communicating-port c.
