Plates, securing tubes to.-For securing steam superheater tubes to the main steam pipes, the tube-ends are fitted with collars S and are pressed into seatings in the pipes by a wedge W, which is forced home by a screw. Packing J is inserted between the collars and seatings. One wedge may be used with each tube instead of with several tubes. Junction-pieces.-The superheating-tubes disposed in the smoke-tubes are connected together by detachable couplings C, one end of which is screwed on one tube and other end secured to the other tube by a screwed plug. The bend R is in two parts, held together by a screwed plug.
