11,147. Mills, R., and Badcock, J. P. May 5. Plates, securing tubes to.-Relates to means for securing tubes to headers in a special type of water-tube boiler. In Figs. 1 and 3, each end of the tubes c is shown fitted with a reducing - socket d, into which is screwed a tube e. This tube is passed right through the header and is secured in place by a cap nut f; jointing-material may be inserted between the header and the socket d and nut f. Holes g are formed iu those parts of the tubes e within the headers. The sockets d may be formed in one with the tubes, or the tubes may be of the same diameter throughout. Instead of the sockets bearing on the headers, collars or back-nuts may be formed or fitted on the tubes. The tubes i are secured to the sides of the headers in a similar manner.
