Abstract

7574. Callow, J. March 28,1908. [Cognate Application 7575/09. Addition to 14,224/08]. Discharging devices for endless-belt conveyers; driving-gear.-Apparatus for feeding and delivering lumps of dough for use in connection with proving apparatus, is constructed to fill the compartments of a number of receptacles in succession, and means are provided for the purpose of preventing the operations of feeding and discharging from being made irregular by the dough lumps adhering to the apparatus. The dough lumps F are fed continuously on to an endless band 2, which is driven continuously in one direction by the pulley 8 while it is reciprocated to and fro above the prover receptacles D, which are brought in turn into position beneath it. The reciprocation of the band 2 is effected by means of pulleys 3, mounted in slides 6 and connected together by a chain 10, passing round a pulley 12, which is rotated alternately in opposite directions by suitable means. After filling one receptacle D, the band 2 moves from left to right while an empty receptacle is being moved into position. The conveyer for carrying the dough lumps from the prover may be given an intermittent motion by means of mutilated gearing. The dough lumps at either end of the apparatus may be received upon a pair of hinged plates 19, Fig.4, which are allowed to fall apart at intervals, or a number of plates 20, 21, 22, Fig. 5, radiating from a spindle 23 which is rotated at intervals, may be used, or a pair of such appliances as shown in Fig. 6. This last appliance, mounted in a reciprocating frame may be used for feeding dough lumps to proving apparatus in a similar manner to the reciprocating appliances described in Specification 10,139/07.
