Abstract
5960. Gibbs, F. I. Feb. 27, 1908. Moulds; preparing surfaces.-Tea-pots, vases, jugs, cups, candlesticks, and other hollow-ware having a raised ornamental pattern are made by electro-deposition on suitable non-metallic and non-porous models, such as glass or pottery, by first applying conducting material 2 to form the pattern, and then electro-depositing metal 3 upon it. Next, after suitable cleaning, the spaces 4 of the pattern are prepared to receive an electro-deposit, and metal 5 is deposited over the prepared spaces 4 and over the raised pattern 3. The model is then broken away or removed.
