5639. Schoof, W. March 9. Actuating valves and cocks ; floats ; piston valves. - The float e of a carburettor has a conical opening e<1> to prevent the float being affected by tilting. The piston valve N for the air and mixture is actuated by the lever P, helical segment Q, and rack Q<1>. The valve is bored eccentrically and slit at T to provide for wear. A stop t may project into the slit to prevent the valve from turning.
