Abstract

5215. Power, W. J. March 3. Belt and chain gearing.-A device for cleaning and dressing or lubricating the belt or chain of a motor-cycle or other motor-vehicle while in motion consists of a movable brush 10, and a box 1 with a sliding valve 3 controlling the outlet. The brush is carried by a frame 4 pivoted to the box, and is normally kept out of contact with the belt or chain by a spring 12. The valve 3 is connected to the brush frame 4 by a pin-and-slot device so that actuation of a lever 11 or other suitable controlling-mechanism first puts the brush into operation and further movement opens the valve.
