Abstract

4041. Moser, E. Feb. 18. Roller apparatus.-In an appliance for sharpening the blades of safety razors, of the type having grinding-rollers against which the blade is held while the rollers are rotated, a blade-holder 1 consisting of a plate of metal has a slot 5 through which the blade is inserted, and vertically-adjustable screws 6 are placed at either end of the slot with longitudinal grooves 7 in which the ends of the blade are placed ; the adjustment of the screws allows of regulating the position of the edge of the blade between the rollers. The invention is described in connexion with a device in which the rollers are mounted in a frame 8 and carry pinions engaging the teeth of a rack 9 along which the blade-holder slides on its curved eyes 2, which rest on the rack. The blade-holder is relatively movable with respect to the frame 8, and consequently the blade is brought into contact with the two rollers alternately as the frame is moved up and down the rack.
