Abstract

53. Lynde, F. C. Jan. 1. Plug-cocks; casings; regulating rate of flow in valves and cocks.-A gas tap, adapted for controlling the supply of gas to burners from a distance, comprises a plug B situate in a casing A provided with a base or wall plate D and a dome-shaped cover L screwed to a tubular extension J of the plate D. A radial operating- arm E moves in a sunk recess in the plate D and carries one or more screws G co-operating with a stop H or other part, so that the opening and closing movements can be regulated, the latter so as to leave a by-pass, if desired. The cover L may be screwed directly on the projection J, or is carried by a nut K, as shown, the nut K also serving to hold the plug in the casing.
