Gas or explosive-vapour engines.-In an engine with more than four cylinders, two or more carburettors are provided, each being connected by independent piping to a set of cylinders selected so that the suction periods do not overlap. The minimum number of carburettors necessary is used. A six-cylinder vertical four-stroke-cycle engine with two carburettors, and a seven-cylinder engine with three carburettors are described.
