Window opening and closing apparatus.-Fanlights secured in the closed position by a spring bolt a engaging a hole in a plate b on the frame are opened by withdrawing the bolt a by means of a cord c and closed by pulling a cord d, which passes over a pulley e carried on a bracket on the inner side of the fan-light and is secured at g to the plate b. The pulley e is arranged at one side of the bolt a with its axis in the same vertical plane as the bolt in order to prevent the cord from interfering with the bolt. Another pulley f is provided on the outside of the fan-light, and grooves h are formed in the pulley brackets and plate b to accommodate the cord.
