Speed - indicator transmission mechanism. - Transmission mechanism for motor-vehicle instruments comprises a toothed driving wheel b on the Cardan shaft a or other rotating part of the vehicle and a driven toothed wheel e mounted on an arm g adjustable angularly in an extension of a support c borne loosely upon the driving wheel, the arrangement being such as to maintain the wheels in mesh during running. The wheel b is in two parts bolted together and is provided with shoulders b<1> forming bearings for the two-part support c. The support c is slotted to expose the teeth of the driving- wheel b, and the arm g is adjustably mounted by means of a pin g<1> in a split clamping part f<1> of the support c, whereby its inclination may be varied to provide for different sizes of gear wheels and to take up wear. The upper part of the support c is formed as a bridge part c<3> carrying a grease cup c<4>. The support is steadied by a spring k<1> on a rod k clamped to a beam l of the vehicle chassis. The flexible shaft h of the speed indicator may be driven from the wheel 6 by worm gearing enclosed in a casing j carried by the arm g.
