Wheels with two or more rims or tyres side by side; felloes or rims.-Auxiliary or spare wheels are attached to the fixed wheel by claws on the former entering pockets 7 in four detachable fittings on the fixed wheel. When all the claws are adjustable the level of the pockets may be below the rim 4, but with two fixed and two adjustable claws, the pockets are on the same level as the rim. The detachable fittings are held in place either by transverse bolts 5, or by a radially movable clamping-plate 8, Fig. 4. For wheels without wooden felloes, the fittings are provided with lugs to engage on the under surface of the felloe. Specification No. 3887, A.D. 1904, is referred to.
