Abstract
14,480. Holmes, G. B., and Allen, A. D. Aug. 7, 1907, [date applied for under Section 91 of Patents &c. Act, 1907]. Collectors for use on electric traction systems having overhead conductors. The collecting- wheel is carried in bearing blocks 7 slidably mounted in slots 5 in the trolly head. The blocks 7 are normally maintained in the upper portions of the slots by the springs 10, and the wheel is kept central by flat springs 13, Fig. 3, secured to the inner side of the blocks. The flanges 8 of the blocks are formed with the faces 18 'curved so as to enable the blocks and spindle to swing as a whole in the harp and permit the wheel to adjust itself to curves in the conductor.
